A special welcome to current and prospective members of the Greensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra, which I will be leading during the 2010 – 2011 season. Auditions will take place in August 2010. Audition requirements are posted on the GSYO Website and have been updated with more specific orchestral excerpts as well as suggested solo selections for violin and flute players. It is a pleasure to announce my new association with the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra as Assistant Conductor. Over the last year I have come to know many of the musicians in the GSO through other projects in the area and am thrilled to work with more of them on the upcoming season. In 2010 – 2011 I will create and lead the Greensboro Symphony’s Education concert series which brings classical music to thousands of school children in the region, conduct the Holiday Concert and Pops series, and assist Maestro Dmitri Sitkovetsky on the Masterworks Read the rest of this entry »

My second season as Music Director for the Music Theatre program at Elon will include Stephen Schwartz’s Children of Eden (October 28 – November 7) and Jonathan Larson’s Rent (February 10-13, 2011). Composer John Bucchino will visit Elon in April 2011 to coach and perform his show It’s Only Life, as our New Musical Project. Read the rest of this entry »
