Jazz Piano
It Might As Well Be Spring : My regular trio in Florida got together one afternoon at the studio of Jeff Green in Orlando, FL to record a few tracks, and this was among the ones we liked. Rabbit Simmons on bass and Stan Soloko on drums.
I Loves You Porgy : Recorded on the same day. Both were recorded following a period of study with jazz pianist Lynne Arriale in which we focused on phrasing the melody from the words and motivic development.
The Very Thought of You : This one was recorded straight off the soundboard at Heidi’s Jazz Club in Cocoa Beach, FL with Austrian jazz vocalist Simone Kopmajer. Kevin Gallagher is on bass and Chris Nolin is on drums, both friends and veteran players from the days of Seaside Music Theater. We accompanied Simone for the U.S. release party for her album Romance.
Noon Song : Anyone who knows Chick Corea’s work will recognize this track which I learned straight off his album Piano Improvisations, Volume I. This is among my favorite of his albums and one of the first I listened to growing up. Recorded live in a recital at Indiana University.
